Our Techniques
Dr. Herro employs a wide range of proven techniques for each individual person. Specific chiropractic adjustments (performed manually or with an instrument) on a consistent basis are required to remove subluxation and promote balance and optimal function. Below, you will find a brief explanation of the popular chiropractic techniques we use at our practice.
Chiropractic Biophysics
This technique is one of the most researched chiropractic techniques. Chiropractic Biophysics incorporates specific chiropractic adjustments and nervous system re-education to achieve biostructural correction, which allows the spine to normalize and the nervous system to function optimally for improvement in overall health.
Thompson Technique
This technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment that utilizes a specialized drop-piece mechanisms in the table to assist the adjustment. Individual cushions or "drop pieces" located
along the table support each area of the spine until the thrust is given. Then, each drop-piece gently gives way, reducing the pressure needed to move a specific spinal segment and enhancing the
motion of the adjustment that coordinates with the inherent design of the spine as well as the overall balance of the nervous system.
Trigger Point Therapy
The primary purpose of Trigger Point Therapy is to reduce the pain that results from hypersensitive muscles. Trigger points are identified by gently pressing on the surface of the skin, sensing the
texture of the underlying muscle.
A trigger point is like a knot the size of a pea, buried deep in the muscle tissue. It is made up of lactic acid, a normal byproduct of muscular activity, which sometimes gets trapped in the muscle
from physical, chemical or emotional stress.
Webster Technique for Expectant
Mothers
This technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment that reduces interference to the nervous system and balances pelvic musles and ligaments. This in turn reduces the cause of intra-uterine constraint and allows the growing baby to get into the best possible position for birth.
Cranial Sacral Meningeal Release Technique
This technique is a global cranial correction technique that works through the body's own self-correcting mechanism to remove tension within the spinal column and allow cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) to move freely within the nervous system.
